This is an example of evaluating the maximum pore diameter and pore size distribution of non-woven fabric sheets using the bubble point method. The sample is immersed in a chemical solution, and air pressure is applied. The pressure is increased until it overcomes the surface tension of the chemical solution absorbed in the sheet, at which point the appearance of bubbles occurs; this pressure is referred to as the bubble point. At MicrotracMRB, as a countermeasure against the recent shortage of helium (He) gas supply, we have added a new feature to the BELSORP series: the helium-free continuous measurement method "AFSM2: Advanced Free Space Measurement 2." Developed and released a new feature that enables the evaluation of specific surface area and pore distribution without using helium gas!

At MicrotracMRB, we have developed a new feature called the 'AFSM2' free space continuous measurement method, which does not require helium gas due to the recent shortage of helium gas supply. By using an adsorbate such as N2 in advance to determine the "free space value of the blank sample tube" (calibration), we calculate the adsorption amount by subtracting the "excluded volume of the sample determined from the sample mass and density" from the free space (calculated value). The difference in free space due to the liquid nitrogen level during pre-calibration and adsorption measurement is automatically determined using a reference tube, so there is no need to keep the liquid level constant. 【Features】 ■ Continuous measurement of free space: Possible ■ He gas: Not required ■ Free space (initial value): Pre-measurement + reference tube correction ■ Sample tube ID management: Required (register ID and volume in software) ■ Measurement time: Approximately 45 minutes shorter ■ Direct measurement of net adsorption amount: Possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
